在克罗斯退役后，有多名中场球员今年夏窗被推荐给皇马，但都被皇马拒绝，他们相信卡马文加，认为卡马文加可以逐渐承担起以前克罗斯在场上的职责。

卡马文加因膝盖部位受伤，本赛季还没有在正式比赛中为皇马出场，而最近皇马中场运转不畅也受到了许多批评。据悉卡马文加最近的恢复情况良好，他有望赶上这个月底（北京时间9月30日）的马德里德比。
